Actual birthday is not until July 1st.

Something interesting showed up at the sight of the new Bridgeport Antique Taco.

I am interested to see how they plan to use it.

Had a number of appointments today. Between stops, I had some soup and a cup of coffee at a local diner.

As I was finishing my coffee, I overheard a conversation at a nearby table. The “older” gentleman wanted to order the Reuben, but his daughter wanted him to make a healthier choice and recommended the Turkey Wrap.  His response was perfect.

“What’s the use in living longer if I can only eat crap.”

I almost bought him the Reuben myself.

Keep your eye on the corner of 35th and Morgan.  It is soon to be the home of the second location of Antique Taco.  Scheduled to be open this spring, it is sure to become a must visit spot in Bridgeport.  Grab a couple tacos and a cocktail before a Sox Game?

I will keep everyone updated.

My wife and daughter took me out to lunch today.  At the Flat Top Grill, they sat us by the giant wall of kid art.

It was like the Baskin Robbins of bitters.

Our bartender at Green River was fantastic.  He made us some fantastic cocktails.  And the oysters and sweetbreads were also amazing.

We will be back.

Somehow, I made it a whole week into the New Year without one photograph of alcohol.  That is about to change.

A Gin Rickey for my lovely wife, and an Old Fashioned for me.  All thanks to Simone’s on 18th Street in the Pilsen Neighborhood.
