Weekly Photo Challenge: Surprise

I am taking a few steps back into the past for this weeks challenge, but not too far past.  It was just a few months ago, on a bright and sunny August morning.  It was a beautiful day, and I was off to work.  Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, until I turned to close and lock the front door.

The Bug

It is obviously some sort of dragonfly, but what it was doing there was a mystery.  Our home is no where close to any sort of body of water, so I don’t really know where it came from.  Or where it went.

Luckily, it was gone by the time I got home.  I have never seen anything like it in our neighborhood before, and hopefully I will never see it again.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Delicate

Once again, I am sneaking this one in on the last day.  And almost at the last hour.  So I have decided to take it in a whole other direction.

A synonym for delicate could be Fragile.  Or, Fra-gil-e.

And since my all time favorite Christmas movies s “A Christmas Story,” my delicate, or Fra-gil-e picture is:

It also helps that I actually own a leg lamp.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Changing Seasons

Sneaking in on the last day with this one.

Chicago has decided to fight against the change of the seasons this year.  Oh, we know it is coming, the leaves have all fallen and the temperature has dipped, but the weathermen have pushed off the snow for now, and it does not look like it will get here any time soon.

So until the white stuff starts to fall from the sky, we are content to celebrate the change of the seasons with some simple decorations.

Santa at Dawn

Happy Holidays to all.
